The 7 Churches of Revelations Tour

This is one of our most popular tours.

We’ve designed a tour of the Seven Churches of Revelation to maximize your time at the sites and minimize your time in bus travel.  This has greatly benefited travelers who want devotional time during their tour.  This tour can be done in reverse order or as an add on to any other tour or locations you’d like to visit.  You will stay a minimum of two nights at each hotel, significantly easing your transitions and allow you time to unwind. Sojourn Turkey likes to allow people the time to savor this so we run this trip normally 1 day longer than most everyone else. Why? Because we want you to be able to reflect and experience the wonder of these sites, rather than just check them off.

Following the text of Revelations the tour starts with the best preserved classical site in Turkey – Ephesus. You’ll find more than just Ephesus in this rich area, with a few surprises including St. John’s Basilica, The House of Mary, and one of Turkey’s most amazing villages Sirince.

The Journey then follows the Biblical text stopping through Smyrna (Izmir) on the way to Pergamum. With its rich history, and numeous sites, a day is just enough to see this unique antique site.

The following days Journey takes you quickly through Thyatira and to a wonderful afternoon in Sardis – one of the oldest Biblical sites with the Jewish congregation established here at the end of the King’s highway during the Old Testament Persian Captivity.

Day four  takes in the small site of Philadelphia and the newly uncovered ruins in Laodiciea. This evening is spent at a thermal hotel to relax and reflect on all that you have seen.

DAY 1    Laodicea (with option of Colossae)  Laodicia (Revelations 3:13-22)

After crossing beautiful countryside vineyards and rolling hills, we visit the ancient ruins of Hierapolis, Laodicea, and Colossae and the gleaming white mineral springs of the “Cotton Castle”  or Pamukkale.  A hearty dinner, and a massage or visit to the mud baths, then a good night’s rest at a Thermal Springs Resort will be in order this evening.
